What is a microchip?
A microchip is a small radio frequency transponder about the size of a grain of rice. The Crystal Tag microchip is contained in a light-weight bio-plastic casing and contains a unique 15 digit numeric code.
How does it work?
The Crystal Tag is implanted just underneath the skin. Using a reader, the unique code contained inside the chip can be obtained. Animal care facilities can then call 1-877-PETLINK to return the pet to its owner.
What do I need to do after I have my pet microchipped?
Once you have a microchip implanted into your pet, be sure to register your pet! Remember the microchip only contains a unique code which then has to be registered to you, the pet owner. To find out more about registration, call 1-877-PETLINK or visit www.petlink.net.

Does it hurt?

No. Implantation of the Crystal Tag is an easy, painless procedure that does not require anesthesia.
